How To: Change Tweeter Protection Bulb

The tweeter in your DNS series cabinet is protected by a circuit that prevents damage during operation. Should the protection bulb ever fail, you can replace it by doing the following:

1. Use a #2 Phillips-head screwdriver to remove the #8 x3/4″ self-tapping Phillips head screws that hold the rear input panel to the cabinet.

2. The protection bulb is located just below the input panel opening on the DNS-110, DNS-112N, DNS-112N/Micro, DNS-115N, and DNS-210. On the DNS-410 it will be to the left of the opening.

3. Carefully remove the blown bulb and replace it with a new bulb. The bulb snaps in to the holder.

4. When you’re done, replace the input plate and the #8 Phillips-head screws that hold it in place.

SPECIAL NOTE: The protection bulb is a 24-volt unit. However, in a pinch, you may use a 12-volt auto dome light to replace a blown bulb. If you do this, it’s best to get a 24-volt replacement as soon as possible, as the 12-volt bulb will not work as well as the direct replacement.

If you need assitance, or to order a replacement bulb (or two!), please send us an email.
