Two 210's vs One 410

I tried searching for a thread but couldn't find one!

I am considering buying either two DNS 210's or one 410.

Has anyone done a comparison? Is there any difference in sound? The 210's could be stacked on their sides so will be taller.
Will they handle a low B with authority? Being in Canada I can't get to try the gear so I will be buying blind.

I have played the 210 cabs and love them. It's output is equal to any other brand's 410. The 410 is equal to an 810.

You'd be happy with the 210, as it does handle a low B. My personal favorite is the 410, though. I've had mine for over 5 years and it is a beast. Vicious power and finally superior to all other brand cabs.

Thanks Rinos. So two DNS210 cabs should be as awesome as the DNS410?

I would say so. It'd be ultimately a more portable setup, considering that you'd be able to run a half sized rig for smaller shows, if needed.

If you get them, they require a break in period, though. Their full potential opens up after a few weeks of play. They sound amazing at first, but mind blowing after they're broken in.

Is there a break in method? I remember from my hifi days that you reverse the polarity of one, face the speakers 6" apart and play music for a few days.

I just played mine for a little each day. I think someone here mentioned playing some white noise through it for 24 hours or something, but can't remember.

That break in thing is very interesting. I'm also thinking of getting 2 2x10 cabs for portability. My rehearsal spot has 3 flights of stairs and though the 4x10 is lighter than my old 8x10 it's still kinda heavy to haul by myself.

Is there a thread about breakins?

Not that I know of. I think a few if us just discussed it in a really old thread.

I just played my DNS-410 at rehearsals because I live under our landlord in what I'd call an "in-law" apartment. They have the top of the house and we have the bottom. The house is built on a hill with separate entrances, but still not a place I can play music at any decent volume. Then one day at a rehearsal it just sounded noticeably better than it had before using the same settings in the same building. You'll know when it happens. Armin might know what the timing on it is, but I just don't remember.
