DNA or aftermarket casters for the DNS410?

Postby RipVanDan » Mon Mar 16, 2015 7:37 pm

Hi all,

Well looks like I'm finally going to be able to pull the trigger on the DNS410 cab I've been lusting after for years. Got a question for you though. I think it's an extra $100 or more to get the caster kit for it and then I have to install the casters myself. I know David did not want to run into the problems he had with the casters on the Eden cabs and I believe switched to the permanent base plate kit with the snap in and out large diameter casters. Are these any better than the ones I could pick up locally at a Lowe's, Home Depot, or order from an online company? I know the corners are reinforced to accept them but if I have to install them myself, is there anything special about the ones from DNA that would make me want to pay the extra for them?

Thanks,
Dan

Hi Rob and thanks!

I did find out from a couple of DNA dealers that there are two kits available. Both include the baseplate that you permanently mount to the cab and then slide the casters in and out of. You can choose from either the 3" or the 3½" diameter casters. Basically these are the same ones that Bryan did a photo tutorial piece on the Eden site. I think we still have it listed there under the giant Bass Sticky thread. The casters themselves are rounded and blue just like the ones in his picture.

I spoke the the dealer in WA about it and they said it was $66. I checked with Bass Central in Florida and they quoted $50. Neither of the two dealers had the DNS410 in stock. Bass Central fired off an e-mail today to see if it was available for drop-ship from DNA. I hope I hear back from them soon. He said last time he e-mailed it took about 2 weeks to get an answer. I'll be moving to Washington state around the middle of April, so I hope he hears back soon!

Hi Dan,
I also contacted David yesterday but haven't got an answer yet.
He usually answers quick to me.
The nuts to mount the casters are installed on all the cabs, except the smaller ones.
So installation is pretty easy.

Hey Armin,

Have you heard from David whether or not he has a DNS410-8 available for drop-ship. I found the 4 ohm version at a New Hampshire dealer but that won't work with my amp. It has to be 8 ohms. I've checked with a number of dealers who are willing to have it drop shipped to me if there are any available.

Reason for the hurry is I'm moving from Virginia to Duvall, Washington (Seattle area) next month and I need to get the DNS cab before I can sell my GK and Acoustic cabs. I plan to be on the road to Washington on the morning of April 21st. So time is running short.

Thanks,
Dan

Eureka! I found one. The Low End in Tennessee had a DNS410-8 in stock. They said they would see if they could get in touch with David today to have one drop-shipped and if not, they would pack up the one they have there and send it out. With a little bit of luck, I will have it by Friday. :) :) :)
