One Down, Two to Go

Postby LaneOnBass » Wed Jul 13, 2011 11:12 am

Hey, all y'all! I hope everyone is doing well. This is just a quick post to let you know what I've been up to lately.

Have been enjoying the tour with Ryan Pelton. So far, we've done a month at Coushatta Casino Resort in Kinder, LA... a two-day stand at Hard Rock Casino with multiple tribute artists... a short jaunt through Montana, Wyoming, Idaho, and Utah... then a 3-day stint at Wild Adventures in Valdosta, GA, with multiple tributes (I added a Carmine Rojas tribute, in that we had Tina Turner and Rod Stewart tribute artists on the bill), and have now begun our time in Pennsylvania, where we will spend much of the summer playing fairs.

While in Montana we recorded tracks for Ryan latest CD of Elvis tunes... his first with a live band. We sent the tracks to Mr. Fix-It, Richard Rupert, at Green Valley Recording, who did an amazing job of mixing some less-than-perfectly-recorded tracks, thus saving the project. Yesterday and the day before, the band recorded tracks at GVR with Richard at the helm, for Ryan's first-ever CD of original songs. Ryan is now adding vocals; background vocals will be done early next week. Ryan will also be recording final vocals for the patriotic CD... the tracks for which we recorded last year.

So... by the end of the summer, we should have three new CDs out. the Elvis CD - Any Day Now - is already available, and a fans-only version should release soon.

I am now on a short tour break, and waiting to fly home tonight. I'll fly back on the 19th, and we'll begin the next leg with a show on the 20th at the Lycoming County Fair. This is my return to the stage where I did my very first show with Ryan... and I'm looking forward to redeeming myself! LOL

So... that's the short version. For those who want to know more, I blog on my web site, tweet at, and post regularly on my Facebook Fan Page.

Take care... play loud... and, of course...
Keep Thumpin'!

Thanks for popping in and keeping in touch Lane. :)

Sounds like a very busy, busy time, but glad you've managed a break and some down time at home - that's important! :naughty:

Sounds like a great tour of the USA! Stay safe, Lane.

Do you have some good "DNA rig" stories?

Living the dream, Lane. That's awesome. I'd also love to hear some great rig stories. 8-) I think I speak for everyone when I say that we miss you being on here more frequently, but it is totally understood. So.....go do some more thumpin'! :D
