Wireless Systems

If it's not a bass, and it's not an amp, but it's something you use when you're playing bass, talk about it here.

Wireless Systems

Postby Back2Bassics » Thu Apr 15, 2010 10:22 am

Does anyone here use wireless systems? I've been thinking of getting something, but have been hesitant due to potential signal loss.
I don't see many bassists using them, but quite a few guitarists/vocals, so I am looking for some first hand experience and recommendations.

I've been using the X2 digital system - which got bought out by line 6 and then discontinued.

I like it. It works well, I don't get drop outs, and its got a small footprint. IIRC - the battery life is pretty decent as well. . .

I also use the X2. I had a cable made for the body pack (made my Lava Cable). I've never had any problems with it. I've used it for a little over a year now, and have no plans to go back to a cable.

Are you guys using the stomp box or rack version? From what I have been reading, the stomp box format has much better battery life.

I purchased the x2 wireless XDS-Plus. (http://line6.com/xdsplus/)

So far I am pleased with it. I compared it to a Monster Instrument cable and did a blind sound test. I could not discern the difference. Range seems pretty good (I went to the edge of my property) ~ 150ft. I also tested proximity to wireless router/microwave, and did not experience any interference or decrease in quality.

I'm going to start using it regularly and see what kind of battery life I get before making the decision to keep it or not, but so far so good.

Thanks for the tips!
